Tue Oct 15 14:45:13 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru Flooded: Tech Park Submerged, Techies Stranded as City Batters Heavy Rains
**Bengaluru, October 17:** Torrential rains lashing Bengaluru since Tuesday morning have caused widespread flooding, particularly impacting the city’s tech hub, Manyata Tech Park. The 300-acre tech village, home to numerous offices, is completely submerged, leaving techies stranded and facing a difficult commute.
Roads inside the tech park are underwater, and traffic is at a standstill. The heavy downpour, which began at 3 AM, has also led to significant congestion on the Hebbal flyover, with traffic expected to worsen during the evening rush hour.
Social media platforms are buzzing with images and reports of the flooding, with users expressing their frustration over the city’s crumbling infrastructure. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain in the coming days, predicting a rainy week ahead.
Weather bloggers are urging techies to leave work early to avoid getting stuck in the rain, with the downpour expected to continue for at least the next 2-3 hours.
The IMD has also issued a heavy rain warning for Bengaluru Rural, Chikballapura, and Kolar districts this week.
Bengaluru’s weather became a top trending topic on Google Trends as residents searched for updates on the torrential rain and traffic conditions. The keyword ‘Bangalore weather’ saw over 50,000 searches on Google, peaking at 9:54 AM during the morning rush hour when many commuters were stranded due to the heavy downpour.
