Tue Oct 15 12:17:03 UTC 2024: ## Air India Flight Diverted to Delhi After Bomb Scare Threat
**New Delhi, India:** An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York (Flight Al119) was diverted to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Monday morning after receiving a bomb threat. All 239 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated and are currently at the airport terminal.
The airline received a specific security alert and followed the instructions of the government’s security regulatory committee to divert the flight. Air India emphasized their commitment to passenger and crew safety, stating that they are working to minimize any inconvenience caused by the unexpected disruption. The flight has been rescheduled for Tuesday morning.
Security agencies, including a bomb squad, have thoroughly inspected the aircraft, which is currently stationed on an isolation runway at the IGI Airport. All standard safety protocols are being followed. Delhi police confirmed that all security agencies are on high alert and requested the public to avoid spreading unverified information.
The bomb threat was reportedly received on social media. It follows a similar incident earlier today where a fake bomb threat caused a London-bound Air India flight to make an emergency landing. Two other IndiGo flights, one heading to Muscat and another to Jeddah, were also impacted by bomb scare threats on Monday morning.
Authorities are investigating the source of these threats.
