**Mumbai, India:** Renowned Marathi actor and comedian, Atul Parchure, passed away on Monday evening at the age of 57. He was battling cancer and had been hospitalized for the past five days.

Parchure was a prominent figure in both Marathi theatre and Bollywood. He was known for his comedic roles in films like “Golmaal,” “Partner,” “Kyon Ki,” and “Aawaraapan.” He was also a familiar face on the popular television show “The Kapil Sharma Show.”

His demise was confirmed by Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar, who revealed that Parchure was in the middle of rehearsals for the Marathi play “Suryaachi Pillal” when his health deteriorated.

Parchure had been diagnosed with cancer in 2022. In an interview last year, he described his ordeal, recounting how he discovered a 5-centimeter tumor in his liver during a medical check-up after returning from a family vacation in Australia and New Zealand. He underwent a difficult period of treatment, including chemotherapy, and spoke about the challenges he faced in battling the disease.

Despite his health struggles, Parchure continued to work. He received support from the team of “The Kapil Sharma Show,” who had approached him for a role in the show.

A graduate of the National School of Drama, Parchure began his acting career with the television show “R.K. Laxman Ki Duniya.” He also played memorable roles in films like “All the Best” and “Aawaraapan.”

His passing is a significant loss to the entertainment industry. He will be remembered for his comedic timing, versatility, and contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema.
