Mon Oct 14 09:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Mysterious Drone Fleet Stumped Pentagon During 17-Day Invasion of Langley Air Force Base

**WASHINGTON, D.C.** – A fleet of unidentified drones swarmed a U.S. military base in Virginia for 17 days last December, baffling Pentagon officials and prompting a high-level investigation, according to a new report.

The drones, described as roughly 20 feet long and capable of flying at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, were first spotted by military personnel at Langley Air Force Base. They appeared each night for 45 minutes to an hour after sunset, flying across Chesapeake Bay towards Norfolk, Virginia, and even penetrating airspace over the base housing Navy SEAL Team Six and Naval Station Norfolk.

Officials were unable to determine if the drones were operated by hobbyists or hostile actors, including China or Russia. The incident reached President Biden and led to a two-week investigation involving the Defense Department, the FBI, the Pentagon’s UFO office, and outside experts.

The drones’ presence over the base sparked concerns about potential security breaches and raised questions about the ability to detect and deter such intrusions.

The incident follows a similar event in Nevada two months prior, where five drones were spotted near a government nuclear weapons experiment site. Officials there have since upgraded their detection system but remain uncertain about the origin of those drones.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House and Department of Defense for comment. While the DoD referred the inquiry to Langley Air Force Base, neither base officials nor the White House have responded.
