**Chennai, India -** Tamil Nadu is bracing for another round of heavy rains and thunderstorms, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting further downpours across the state. Several districts, including Chennai and Puducherry, are already saturated after recent rainfall.

Authorities in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Chengalpattu have declared a holiday for today due to the anticipated intense rainfall. The IT sector has been advised to implement work-from-home measures to ensure employee safety.

Monitoring officers have been deployed to their respective districts to oversee the situation and ensure the smooth distribution of essential supplies, especially milk. Local authorities have been instructed to remain vigilant and prioritize public safety.

IMD has warned of thunderstorms and strong winds—between 40 to 60 km/h—in coastal districts, particularly in Puducherry, where heavy rain, thunderstorms, and squalls are also predicted. The state’s relative humidity is currently at a high of 96%.
