Mon Oct 14 11:43:23 UTC 2024: ## Salman Khan’s Security Tightened After Threat From Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
**Mumbai, October 29, 2024** – Following the brutal murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique on Saturday night, security has been beefed up around Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
Siddique, a close friend of Salman Khan, was shot dead by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the same gang that has repeatedly threatened the actor over the years.
While Siddique had not received any threats from the Bishnoi gang in the past, Salman has been a target of the gang since the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The gang had even fired shots at Salman’s Galaxy apartment in April this year.
The Bishnoi gang, in a statement claiming responsibility for Siddique’s murder, has threatened anyone aiding Salman.
“We have no personal grudge against anyone, but we will target anyone who associates with gangster Dawood Ibrahim or helps Salman Khan,” stated Shuban Rameshwar Lankr, believed to be a member of the gang.
Following this threat, Maharashtra Police has enhanced security around Salman’s residence, with around a dozen policemen stationed outside his building.
“Salman Khan has been provided with Y+ security by the Maharashtra government, and his security will be reviewed in light of the recent threats,” an official statement from the Mumbai Police said.
The murder of Baba Siddique has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra, with political leaders condemning the act. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences, assuring swift action against the culprits. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also mourned the loss of his “colleague and friend.”
The Mumbai Police is actively investigating the case and has launched a manhunt for the assailants.
