Mon Oct 14 09:21:59 UTC 2024: ## Pune Fuel Dealers to Go on Indefinite Strike Starting October 15th

**Pune, India -** Fuel dealers and transporters in Pune are gearing up for an indefinite strike starting October 15th, 2024, citing unfair practices and rampant theft issues with oil companies. The strike, which will involve over 900 dealers and transporters, will see them refuse to send tankers to terminals for fuel loading until their concerns are addressed.

The Pune Petrol Dealers Association, along with over 500 dealers from Satara, have highlighted multiple grievances, including:

* **Unworkable Contracts:** They demand the cancellation of existing contracts, which they claim are riddled with clauses that encourage theft during transportation.
* **Investigation and Suspension:** The association is calling for an investigation and suspension of oil company officials responsible for the problems.

Despite raising these concerns with oil companies and authorities in the past, the dealers claim no action has been taken. Dhruv Ruparel of the Pune Petrol Dealers Association emphasized their determination to see their demands met.

In an effort to minimize disruptions for the public, the association has informed the Ministry of Petroleum, local authorities, and oil companies about the planned protest well in advance.

The strike, if it goes ahead, will significantly impact fuel supply in Pune and surrounding areas. It remains to be seen whether the oil companies will address the dealers’ concerns before the strike deadline.
