**Jaipur, Oct 14 (PTI)** – Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde has underscored the importance of women empowerment for societal progress, emphasizing that only a society that works towards empowering women can achieve rapid development.

Speaking at an event where the ‘Nari Shakti 2024’ award was presented to women excelling in fields like environmental protection, entrepreneurship, education, medicine, and the economy, Governor Bagde hailed the power of women as the driving force behind societal values and courage. He lauded the contributions of mothers in shaping their children’s intellectual capacity and stressed the need for strong, fearless women in every situation.

Bagde also highlighted the long-standing tradition of honoring women in Indian culture, citing ‘kanya pujan’ (worship of girls) and the celebration of Navratri as festivals dedicated to the worship of feminine power. He acknowledged the crucial role of women in preserving Indian culture through festivals and traditional practices.

The Governor further acknowledged the Central Government’s historic move of passing the Women Reservation Bill, which he said was a significant step towards women empowerment. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for continuously advancing women’s rights and opportunities within the country.

Highlighting the transformative impact of schemes like ‘Har Ghar Jal’ and various initiatives in rural Rajasthan, Governor Bagde emphasized the ongoing efforts to empower women and support women entrepreneurship. He called for increased women participation in all aspects of society as a crucial factor in building a developed India, urging further investment in women’s education and opportunities.
