**Muscat, Oman** – Pakistan has announced a youthful squad for the upcoming ACC Emerging T20 Cup, to be held in Oman from October 18th. The squad, led by wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, will feature many players who impressed in the recent Champions Cup and domestic cricket.
The defending champions will be looking to defend their title against a strong field, including India A, Afghanistan A, and Sri Lanka A.
Notable inclusions in the squad are the hard-hitting batsman Abdul Samad, who starred in the Champions Cup ODI competition, and the recalled Haider Ali, who has previously played for the senior Pakistan side. The squad also includes four players who have represented Pakistan in various formats.
The team will be training at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi from October 11th to 15th before traveling to Oman on October 16th.
The tournament will see eight teams vying for the title, with Pakistan Shaheens drawn in Group B alongside India A, Oman, and UAE. They will face India in their first game on October 19th, followed by matches against Oman on October 21st and UAE on October 23rd. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on October 25th, with the final scheduled for October 27th.
The Pakistani squad will be managed by Umar Rasheed, with Imran Farhat as the batting coach, Riffatullah Mohmand as the fielding coach, Usman Hashmi as the analyst, and Syed Mohammad Asad as the physiotherapist.
