KARACHI, October 7, 2024 – Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris will lead a young Pakistan squad in the upcoming ACC Emerging T20 Cup, scheduled to take place in Oman from October 18. The team, featuring players who have excelled in recent tournaments and domestic cricket, will be aiming to defend their title.
The squad, which includes four players with senior team experience, will undergo a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi from October 11 to 15 before departing for Oman on October 16.
Notable inclusions in the squad are hard-hitting batter Abdul Samad, who impressed in the recent Champions Cup ODI competition, and recalled white-ball batter Haider Ali.
The Emerging T20 Cup will see eight teams competing in two groups. Pakistan Shaheens, the defending champions, will play their first match against India on October 19, followed by games against host Oman and UAE on October 21 and 23 respectively. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on October 25, with the final scheduled for October 27.
