New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler is set to make his NFL debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he’s drawing inspiration from a legendary source: Archie Manning.
The former Saints quarterback, who himself made his first start as a rookie in 1971, reached out to Rattler with a simple but powerful message: “He reached out a few days ago, just said he’s rooting for me,” Rattler shared.
This isn’t the first time Manning has offered support to the young quarterback. The two first connected at the 2022 Manning Passing Academy, where Rattler impressed the legend. Since then, the relationship has developed into a mentorship, with Manning checking in on Rattler after games.
“We’ve created a great relationship over the last couple of years,” Rattler explained, “He would always check up on me throughout the years after games.”
Rattler is clearly excited about the opportunity to learn from the legendary Manning and is looking forward to making the most of his NFL debut.
