Sun Oct 13 23:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Lions Quarterback Goff Aims for NFL Record with Consecutive Completions
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is on the verge of NFL history, with a chance to break the record for most consecutive completions in a game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
Goff currently holds the record for most passes and most yards in a game without an incompletion, achieving this feat in the Lions’ Week Four victory. He has now completed 19 consecutive passes, just six shy of the NFL record of 25, jointly held by Ryan Tannehill, Marcus Mariota, Philip Rivers, and Nick Foles.
Despite the opportunity to etch his name in the record books, Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has assured that individual stats will not take precedence over team success. “We’re playing ball,” Johnson said, dismissing the idea of calling plays specifically to help Goff break the record.
Goff is enjoying a career-best season, completing 71% of his passes. He will be looking to extend his streak against the Cowboys, in what promises to be an exciting matchup.
