Mon Oct 14 10:21:09 UTC 2024: ## Kannada Superstar Darshan’s Bail Hearing Adjourned in Fan Murder Case

**Bengaluru, Karnataka:** The bail hearing for Kannada superstar Darshan, accused in the murder of his fan Renukaswamy, has been adjourned until Thursday. The Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna Kumar concluded his arguments against granting bail to Darshan. Darshan’s lawyer, C.V. Nagesh, will present his arguments on Thursday.

The court also reserved its decision on the bail petitions of Darshan’s partner, Pavithra Gowda, and other accused: Ravishankar, Deepak, Laxman, and Nagaraj, until October 14.

The SPP argued against bail for all the accused, citing evidence that points towards their involvement in the crime. He presented evidence that Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were present at the shed where the murder occurred, and that Darshan admitted to kicking Renukaswamy in the chest and private parts.

The SPP also countered Darshan’s legal team’s arguments regarding delays in recording statements and procedures. He stated that the police had tracked the location of the accused and witnesses through their mobile tower data and call records, confirming their presence at the crime scene.

Furthermore, the SPP highlighted the fact that Darshan had allegedly confessed to keeping Rs 40 lakh to influence evidence. He also argued against the defense’s attempt to dismiss call records as evidence, citing a Supreme Court ruling that emphasizes their importance.

The court will hear arguments from Darshan’s lawyer on Thursday before deciding on the bail petitions.
