England will be without their captain, Harry Kane, for their upcoming Nations League match against Greece at Wembley Stadium. Kane, who limped off during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga draw with Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend, has been deemed fit to stay with the squad but won’t feature in tonight’s match. He is expected to be available for Sunday’s game against Finland in Helsinki.

In addition to Kane, Jack Grealish will also miss the Greece clash. Manchester City teammate John Stones will lead the England side in Kane’s absence.

Several other players have withdrawn from the squad due to injuries sustained during Premier League matches, including Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Kobbie Mainoo. Uncapped duo Curtis Jones and Tino Livramento have been added to the squad.

With Kane out, the game could see Dominic Solanke earn his second cap for England after a strong season with Tottenham. While many expected Solanke or Ollie Watkins to replace Kane, manager Carsley has opted for a bold attacking strategy that could see Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer, and Bukayo Saka all feature, with Bellingham operating as a false nine.

A win for England against Greece would see them leapfrog the current Group B2 leaders into top spot. The match kicks off at 7:45pm BST on Thursday, October 10th.
