**Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh:** Violence erupted in the town of Bahraich on October 13th, 2023, during a Durga idol immersion procession, leaving one man dead and several injured. The clash, which occurred in the Mahasi area, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over loud music being played during the procession.

Following the incident, tensions escalated, leading to further unrest and vandalism of local shops and even a hospital and pharmacy. Police responded with tear gas and lathi charges to disperse the protesters.
