**Chennai:** Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam has urged the state government to increase the number of vacancies under the Group 4 recruitment process, citing the large number of unemployed youth and the importance of filling existing vacancies.

In a statement released yesterday, Mr. Panneerselvam stated that there are reportedly lakhs of vacancies under the Group 4 category. He highlighted the plight of young people who have already appeared for the Group 4 competitive exams and are eagerly awaiting results. He also emphasized the need to fill these vacancies to ensure the smooth functioning of government schemes and their effective implementation.

Mr. Panneerselvam urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take immediate action to increase the number of vacancies under Group 4 to at least 15,000. He believes this step will not only provide employment opportunities for deserving youth but also benefit the overall functioning of the state government.
