**Dambulla, Sri Lanka:** West Indies secured a thrilling five-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in the first T20 match of the three-match series at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium today.
Winning the toss, West Indies elected to field first. Sri Lanka, batting first, managed to post a respectable total of 179/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Charith Asalanka top-scored for the hosts with 59 runs, while Kamindu Mendis contributed 51 runs. Romario Shepherd was the pick of the West Indies bowlers, claiming two wickets.
Chasing a target of 180, West Indies reached the target in 19.1 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Brandon King led the charge for the visitors with a fine knock of 63 runs, while Evin Lewis chipped in with 50 runs. Matheesha Pathirana snagged two wickets for Sri Lanka.
