Sun Oct 13 21:04:59 UTC 2024: ## SpaceX Aims for Starship Booster Landing in Historic Test Flight

**WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (VARTA)** – SpaceX is anticipating federal regulatory approval this weekend to launch its fifth Starship Super Heavy rocket from Texas. The test flight is significant as it marks the company’s first attempt to land the first-stage booster rocket back on the launchpad at Boca Chica, Texas.

The launch tower is equipped with restraining mechanisms to safely secure the rocket during its descent. SpaceX has confirmed that the Starship is prepared for its fifth test flight, and the company expects regulatory clearance for launch on October 13th.

SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy booster are designed for reusable missions to the Moon and Mars. Previous statements from SpaceX indicate that the landing attempt will only occur if conditions are favorable. If the attempt is cancelled, the Super Heavy booster will simulate a landing attempt in the Gulf of Mexico.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed to Sputnik on Tuesday that SpaceX submitted new information regarding its proposed fifth test flight in mid-August. The agency is currently reviewing this information and will determine the licensing process after SpaceX fulfills all licensing requirements.
