**Chandigarh, October 11, 2024:** The Punjab government has announced a holiday for all service centers across the state on October 12, 2024 (Saturday), coinciding with the festival of Dussehra. This was confirmed by Aman Arora, the state Minister for Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
However, the government has also informed citizens that they can still access 43 services under the ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ scheme by calling the helpline number 1076 from their homes on Dussehra.
**Schools in Punjab to Enjoy Extended Holiday:**
Meanwhile, 20 private and government schools in Ludhiana district have been granted a three-day holiday. The schools will be closed on October 11 for rehearsal day, October 14 for pre-poll day, and October 15 for the Punjab Panchayat elections.
District Commissioner and Election Officer Jatinder Jorwal has issued directives to both district education officers to ensure these holidays for the schools. Principals have been instructed to arrange online classes during these days to ensure uninterrupted learning for students.
