**Chandigarh, October 9:** The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday, October 15th, throughout the state in view of the upcoming Gram Panchayat general elections. The holiday has also been announced under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881.
An official spokesperson for the Punjab government announced this today, stating that the holiday will apply to all government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions in the state, including those located in Chandigarh.
