**Mumbai:** Tensions continue to escalate between the two factions of the Shiv Sena as the Dussehra rally approaches. Sanjay Raut, a Member of Parliament from the Uddhav Thackeray faction, has criticized the Eknath Shinde group, claiming the public stands with the original Shiv Sena. He labelled the Shinde faction “duplicates” and declared the Dussehra rally a “pilgrimage” to the legacy of Shiv Sena.
Responding to Raut’s remarks, Minister Gulabrao Patil of the Shinde group launched a scathing attack. He questioned Raut’s relevance and questioned his political experience, stating that Raut only excels at giving speeches. He accused Raut of being responsible for the downfall of the Shiv Sena.
Patil also accused Raut of “hypocrisy,” noting his use of the word “traitor” while refusing to engage in constructive dialogue about development. He further characterized Raut as someone who thrives on creating turmoil, referring to his statement as “we will sink you and take you down with us.”
Patil emphasized the importance of the Shinde group’s mandate, claiming they were elected by the people and are now in Delhi. He challenged Raut to resign if he is so disappointed with the current state of affairs, but expressed confidence that he will not.
This exchange marks yet another public spat between the two factions ahead of the crucial Dussehra rally. The event is expected to be a major stage for both sides to showcase their support and influence.
