Sun Oct 13 13:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Turkish Referee Claims Sex Video is AI-Generated, Denies Involvement in Scandal
**ISTANBUL** – Elif Karaarslan, a 24-year-old Turkish referee suspended by the Turkish Football Federation for allegedly appearing in a sex video with a manager, has vehemently denied the allegations.
In her first public statement, Karaarslan took to social media, claiming the video circulating online, reportedly featuring her and 61-year-old referee supervisor Orhan Erdemir, is fake and generated by artificial intelligence.
“I have a long legal road ahead of me, but I will overcome it,” she wrote, pleading for support from her nearly half a million followers.
Karaarslan expressed the emotional toll of the scandal, stating, “Crying, screaming and being sad are not things I would do, that’s not who I am.”
She declared her innocence and highlighted the potential for harm to women, insisting, “I will defend my cause to the end. I am just one of many who are being harmed. I hope to be the last.”
Her lawyer echoed these sentiments, claiming the video was maliciously created using AI technology. “A staged video was posted on social media, which was not the original and was created entirely through AI from someone else’s account on social media and has no relation to my client in any way,” the lawyer stated.
The lawyer also pointed out the video’s poor quality and edited features as evidence of its artificial creation.
Karaarslan’s case has sparked controversy and raised concerns about the potential misuse of AI technology to create false content and damage individuals’ reputations. As the legal battle continues, it remains to be seen what the truth behind the scandal truly is.
