Fri Oct 11 19:23:06 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Chief Minister Honors Cricketer Mohammed Siraj with DSP Appointment and Land Grant
**Hyderabad, October 11, 2024** – In a gesture of appreciation for his outstanding performance at the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has appointed Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the state. Siraj, who hails from Hyderabad and was a key player in India’s World Cup triumph, was also awarded a 600-square-yard plot of land in Jubilee Hills as a token of recognition for his contribution to the sport.
The land allotment was formally announced by the revenue department in August, and Siraj officially received his DSP appointment letter from the state Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender on Friday. Siraj expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Reddy and the Telangana Police Department for the honor.
Chief Minister Reddy had earlier pledged to provide Siraj with a government job after the World Cup victory. The appointment, however, will not affect Siraj’s cricketing career, ensuring he can continue to represent India on the international stage.
Siraj, a rising star in the world of cricket, has been instrumental in India’s success in recent times. He boasts a strong record of 78 wickets in 29 Test matches, including a best bowling performance of 6 wickets for 15 runs. He has also taken 71 wickets in 44 One Day Internationals and 14 wickets in 16 T20 Internationals for India.
This recognition by the Telangana government highlights the importance of sports and the dedication of athletes in inspiring the youth of the nation.
