Fri Oct 11 18:57:09 UTC 2024: ## Hyderabad Cricketer Mohammed Siraj Appointed as DSP in Telangana

**Hyderabad, India (October 11, 2024):** Mohammed Siraj, the Indian fast bowler who played a crucial role in India’s victory at the recent T20 World Cup, has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana. The appointment was announced by the state government as a reward for his outstanding achievements in the world of cricket.

Siraj, a Hyderabad native, was also previously gifted a 600 square yard plot of land in Jubilee Hills by the Telangana government.

Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy personally handed over the appointment letter to Siraj on Friday. Siraj expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and the police department for this honor.

“This is a proud moment for me and my family,” said Siraj. “I am grateful to the Telangana government for recognizing my contributions to the sport. I will continue to work hard and strive for excellence on the field.”

Siraj, who was the only cricketer from Telangana to represent India in the T20 World Cup, has established himself as a formidable force in international cricket. He has played 29 Test matches for India, claiming 78 wickets, including a best bowling performance of 6 wickets for 15 runs in an innings.

This appointment, however, will not affect Siraj’s cricketing career as he will continue to play for the Indian cricket team.
