Sat Oct 12 13:40:00 UTC 2024: ## South Africa Eyeing Revenge Against Bangladesh After England Loss

Dubai, UAE – South Africa’s Sinalo Jafta has expressed confidence that her team will bounce back from their recent loss to England and finish their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup group stage with a win against Bangladesh on Saturday.

The Proteas, currently sitting second in Group B behind West Indies on net run rate, have shown a strong ability to overcome setbacks, according to Jafta. “We always come back guns blazing when our backs are against the wall,” she said, adding that the team is approaching the Bangladesh match with a calm and focused mindset.

Despite the loss to England, Jafta emphasized that the team has taken valuable lessons from the match, particularly regarding adapting to different conditions. While South Africa prefers the Dubai pitch, they found the Sharjah pitch, where the England match took place, to be a more challenging experience.

“It’s just being honest and saying, you know what, it wasn’t the best game, but we had to come up with the lessons that we got from it,” Jafta said.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will be looking to end their campaign on a high note after a mixed performance in the tournament. Their captain, Nigar Sultana Joty, sustained an injury but is expected to recover quickly. However, their batting has been a concern, with coach Hashan Tillakaratne acknowledging the need for improvement in this area.

“Batting is a bit of a concern. We need to improve in these areas and they are learning, but this is the major part we need to improve on,” Tillakaratne said.

Despite the challenges, Bangladesh will be looking to draw inspiration from their previous victory against South Africa in December 2023, and are determined to put up a strong fight in their final match.
