An Air India Express flight carrying 141 passengers safely landed at Tiruchirappalli airport on Friday evening after experiencing a mid-air technical snag. The flight, AXB 613, was en route from Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah when it encountered a hydraulic failure shortly after takeoff.

The crew, following all safety protocols, circled for over two hours to reduce fuel before making a safe landing at 8:15pm. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu commended the crew’s professionalism and swift action, ensuring the well-being of all passengers.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been ordered to investigate the cause of the hydraulic failure. Air India Express has pledged to assist passengers with alternate arrangements for their onward journey.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi expressed his relief and praised the crew’s handling of the situation, while Chief Minister MK Stalin deployed emergency response teams and directed local officials to assist passengers.

Air India Express confirmed the aircraft encountered a technical issue with its landing gear, but clarified that no emergency was declared. The airline assured passengers that an alternative aircraft would be arranged for their continued journey.
