Sat Oct 12 00:02:01 UTC 2024: ## Drunk Driver Kills Swiggy Delivery Executive in Pune
**Pune, October 6, 2024:** A 34-year-old private company employee, Ayush Tayal, was arrested for allegedly killing a Swiggy delivery executive in a hit-and-run accident in Pune on Thursday night.
The incident occurred near Tadiguta in the Mundhwa area around 1:30 AM. Tayal, who was reportedly driving an Audi under the influence of alcohol, first collided with two two-wheelers, injuring the riders. He then crashed into a motorcycle driven by Rauff Akbar Sheikh, a Swiggy delivery worker, killing him.
“The accused fled the scene but was later apprehended from his residence based on CCTV footage and vehicle details,” said Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil.
Sheikh’s brother, Majhar Sheikh, confirmed that he was working for Swiggy.
Medical tests confirmed that Tayal was intoxicated at the time of the accident. He has been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act and remanded in police custody until October 13.
