**TAMPA, FL** – The University of South Florida (USF) has announced closures and cancellations due to Hurricane Milton, with the safety of students, faculty, and staff paramount.
As of Thursday, October 10th, all USF campuses remain closed until at least Saturday, October 12th, with all classes cancelled on Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October 12th.
While the university is working to reopen residence halls and dining options for students as soon as possible, normal business operations will not resume on Friday, October 11th.
Only essential personnel, employees identified as critical to campus operations, or those working in facilities open on Friday will be required to report to work, after consultation with their supervisors.
USF leadership will continue to monitor the storm’s impacts and provide updates via usf.edu, USF’s official social media channels, MyUSF, and email.

* **Wednesday, October 9th:** All campuses remained closed, with classes scheduled for Saturday, October 12th, transitioning to asynchronous instruction.
* **Tuesday, October 8th:** USF closed residence halls on the Tampa campus and encouraged students to evacuate. All campuses remained closed through Thursday, October 10th, with classes anticipated to be asynchronous on Friday, October 11th.
* **Monday, October 7th:** USF announced the closure of all campuses and encouraged students living on campus to evacuate if possible. USF Health clinical facilities remained open on Monday, October 7th, with decisions about Tuesday and Wednesday to be announced later.
