Fri Oct 11 15:33:16 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Metro Red Line Disrupted for Third Consecutive Day Due to Technical Glitch

**NEW DELHI:** Commuters on the Delhi Metro’s Red Line faced significant disruptions for the third consecutive day on Tuesday morning, this time due to a technical glitch between Welcome and Seelampur stations. The issue caused delays and overcrowding during the morning rush hour.

The Red Line, connecting Rithala in Delhi to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda in Uttar Pradesh, saw regulated train services from 8:25 am to 10:55 am due to a signalling problem. Trains operated at reduced speeds, resulting in congestion, reported metro authorities. The signalling issue was resolved by 10:55 am, and normal train services resumed.

This incident comes on the heels of similar disruptions on both the Red Line and the Yellow Line. On Sunday, an attempt was made to steal cable from the signal system between Welcome and Seelampur on the Red Line. On Monday, vandalism damaged signalling cables between Haiderpur Badli Mor and Jahangirpuri stations on the Yellow Line, affecting operations for the entire day.

The recent incidents raise concerns about the security of Delhi Metro infrastructure and the recurring disruptions highlight the inconvenience faced by commuters.

Despite the challenges, Delhi Metro continues to progress on other projects. On Saturday, a tunnel breakthrough was achieved on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor between Chhatarpur and Chhatarpur Mandir station, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the metro network.
