Italy were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Belgium in a dramatic Nations League Group A2 clash at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. Despite taking an early 2-0 lead, the Azzurri were undone by a red card to Lorenzo Pellegrini and a spirited comeback from the Belgians.

Italy started brightly, taking the lead just one minute into the match when Federico Di Marco’s cross found Andrea Cambiaso, who bundled the ball into the net after Koen Casteels saved his initial shot. Mateo Retegui doubled the lead in the 24th minute after Casteels denied Cambiaso again.
