**Hyderabad, India:** Indian fast bowler and Hyderabad resident, Mohammed Siraj, has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Telangana state police force. He officially assumed his duties on Friday, reporting to the state Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. Jitender.
The appointment fulfills a promise made by Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who had earlier stated that the state government would offer a Group-1 level job to Siraj, recognizing his outstanding achievements in cricket. The Chief Minister had specifically mentioned the possibility of Siraj joining the police force, and if he did, he would be directly appointed to a high-ranking position like DSP.
Siraj, who was a member of the Indian T20 World Cup team, is expected to continue his cricketing career while also serving his new role in the police force.
