England suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley Stadium on Thursday night, bringing a swift end to their hopes of a quick return to the top tier of the Nations League. Despite a strong September, the Three Lions, missing captain Harry Kane through injury, were outplayed by a resilient Greek side.
Despite boasting a stacked attack, England struggled to find a way past a determined Greek defence. Greece were deserved winners, and were unlucky not to win by a wider margin, with three goals ruled out for offside.
