**Matlock is back!** The popular CBS reboot starring Kathy Bates debuted to great success, becoming the network’s best premiere in over five years. However, the show’s second episode won’t air until Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10 p.m. ET, a departure from its initial Sunday night slot. CBS will re-air the pilot on Oct. 10 to rekindle interest, but some wonder if viewers will follow the show to its new night.

**Bates, however, may be retiring soon.** Despite initial reports of her retirement, Bates has expressed a change of heart, with co-star Skye P. Marshall vowing to “drag [her] out of her house kicking and screaming” if she tries to retire.

**Meanwhile, the TV world mourns the loss of Drake Hogestyn.** The beloved actor, known for his role as John Black on “Days of Our Lives” for 38 years, passed away on Sept. 28 at the age of 71 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. His final appearance on the show aired on Sept. 9, as “Days” films six to seven months in advance.

**Good news for fans of Apple TV+ originals.** The dystopian sci-fi drama **”Silo”** will return for its second season on Nov. 15, with new episodes dropping weekly through Jan. 17, 2025. The dark comedy-drama **”Bad Sisters”** will also return for a second season, premiering with two episodes on Nov. 13. The rest of the season will air on Wednesdays, with eight episodes in total.
