Fri Oct 11 16:09:01 UTC 2024: ## Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Hydraulic Failure

**Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu:** An Air India Express flight carrying 144 passengers from Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah experienced a mid-air hydraulic failure on Sunday evening, forcing the aircraft to circle over the airport for nearly two hours before making a safe emergency landing.

The flight took off around 5:40pm but encountered issues shortly after. To reduce weight and avoid damage to the landing gear, the pilot had to burn fuel while circling above the airport. The situation prompted an emergency response with ambulances and rescue teams standing by.

While a belly landing was initially considered, the pilot successfully landed the aircraft normally at approximately 8:30 pm. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is currently investigating the incident.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed relief over the safe landing, praising the captain and crew for their professionalism. He also assured that officials are ensuring the safety of all passengers and providing necessary assistance.

This incident highlights the importance of safety protocols and the quick response of authorities in managing such emergencies. The DGCA’s investigation is expected to shed further light on the cause of the hydraulic failure and the steps taken to ensure a safe landing.
