Fri Oct 11 15:23:39 UTC 2024: ## Air India Express Flight Lands Safely in Trichy After Technical Glitch

**Trichy, Tamil Nadu:** An Air India Express flight carrying 141 passengers landed safely at Trichy Airport on Thursday morning after experiencing a technical glitch that caused a delay of over three hours. The aircraft, AXB 613, was forced to circle in the air for two hours and 33 minutes, burning fuel, before a safe landing.

The incident occurred due to a hydraulic malfunction that prevented the aircraft’s landing gear from retracting properly. Despite detecting the issue shortly after takeoff, the flight crew decided to prioritize safety and continue circling until the fuel was sufficiently low for a safe landing.

The Civil Aviation Ministry initiated precautionary measures, including the deployment of 20 ambulances at the airport, following reports of the technical snag. The landing was met with applause from airport personnel and onlookers who cheered for the safe return of the aircraft.

Air India Express confirmed the landing was not an emergency landing, emphasizing that it was a “safe landing” following a technical glitch. Officials also confirmed that none of the passengers suffered any injuries or health complications during the ordeal.

Passengers are expected to be accommodated on a replacement flight soon, while the technical issue in the original aircraft is investigated further.
