**Trichy:** An Air India flight bound for Sharjah from Trichy was forced to circle in the air for two and a half hours due to a technical malfunction before landing safely at the Trichy airport. The flight, carrying 141 passengers, was scheduled to depart at 5.40 pm but encountered issues during pre-takeoff checks.
The crew, acting swiftly, decided to circle the airport to burn off excess fuel before attempting a landing. During this time, 20 ambulances and 18 fire engines were kept on standby at the airport as a precautionary measure.
The passengers, initially anxious, were relieved when the aircraft landed safely. Officials are currently investigating the cause of the technical glitch.
