**Jaipur, India:** The auspicious festival of Ashtami will be celebrated on Friday in Jaipur, marking the eighth day of the nine-day Navratri festival. Vaishnav households will be performing Durga Ashtami puja, offering food and gifts to young girls (Kanya) and honoring them with a special “Kanya Pujan” ceremony.
According to astrologers, the Ashtami tithi will commence on Friday at 12:07 PM. However, due to the “Udiyat” (sunrise) timing, the main Mah Navami puja will be performed on Saturday. Kanya Pujan will be possible until 10:59 AM on Saturday, after which the Dashami tithi will begin. Saturday will also see the culmination of Navratri with the celebration of Mah Navami and the subsequent Vijayadashami festival in the evening.
