**Nagpur, Maharashtra:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on [Date] laid the foundation stone for various development projects in Maharashtra, worth over ₹12,654 crore. The projects include upgrades to Nagpur and Shirdi airports, inauguration of 10 new government medical colleges, and the launch of the Indian Institute of Skill (IIS) and Vidya Review Kendra (VSK) in Mumbai.
The new integrated terminal building at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, with an estimated cost of ₹7,000 crore, will feature two parallel runways, a new cargo complex, and parking bays for over 100 aircraft. This upgrade is expected to boost growth in various sectors, benefiting Nagpur city and the Vidarbha region.
The new integrated terminal building at Shirdi Airport, costing over ₹645 crore, will provide world-class facilities for religious tourists visiting the Sai Baba temple. The design of the terminal is inspired by the spiritual Neem tree associated with Sai Baba.
To ensure affordable and accessible healthcare, PM Modi inaugurated 10 government medical colleges located in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli, and Ambernath (Thane). These colleges, costing around ₹5,000 crore, will increase graduate and postgraduate seats and provide tertiary healthcare services to the public.
The newly launched IIS aims to develop a skilled workforce for the industry with advanced technology and practical training. This public-private partnership between the Tata Education and Development Trust and the Indian government will offer training in specialized fields such as mechatronics, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
The VSK will provide students, teachers, and administrators access to important academic and administrative data through smart attendance systems and live chatbots. It will equip schools with resources for effective management, strengthening the relationship between parents and the state.
These projects are seen as a significant boost to Maharashtra’s development, especially in the run-up to the state elections. They are expected to create jobs, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall quality of life for citizens.
