**New Delhi, India (October 5, 2024):** The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced a new feature for NETC Fastag and RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) users, enabling automatic top-ups even when the card balance is low.

This feature, known as UPI Lite Auto Top-up, will simplify and expedite payments by automatically replenishing your UPI Lite wallet when the balance falls below a certain limit.

**How it Works:**

* **UPI Lite:** A digital wallet allowing users to make small transactions without a UPI PIN.
* **Pre-loaded Balance:** Users need to add funds from their bank account to their UPI Lite wallet.
* **Automatic Top-up:** The new feature automatically replenishes the UPI Lite wallet from the linked bank account when the balance is low.
* **Limits:** UPI Lite transactions are limited to ₹500 per transaction and the wallet can hold a maximum of ₹2000.
* **Frequency:** The auto top-up feature allows a maximum of 5 top-ups per day.

**Benefits:**

* **Convenience:** No more manually reloading the wallet when the balance is low.
* **Smooth Transactions:** Avoids interruption during payments due to insufficient balance.

* NPCI has already directed banks to implement the UPI Lite Auto Top-up feature.
* The feature is expected to be rolled out by October 31, 2024, with full user access by November 1, 2024.
