Tue Oct 08 18:41:42 UTC 2024: ## Malaysia Airlines to Resume Kuala Lumpur-Paris Flights After Nine-Year Hiatus

**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -** After a nine-year absence, Malaysia Airlines is set to reintroduce its Kuala Lumpur-Paris route in March 2025. The airline previously suspended the service in 2016 due to a strategic review, but is now making its return as part of its broader network expansion plans.

The French capital will become Malaysia Airlines’ second European destination after London, with flights operating four times a week from March 22nd, increasing to daily service from March 29th. The airline will use its Airbus A350-900s to support the service, with flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).

Paris was selected over other European cities, like Amsterdam, due to its potential to provide connectivity for passengers from Eastern Europe, North Africa, and potentially even South America. This will complement the airline’s existing services to London.

While Malaysia Airlines will operate from Terminal 1 at CDG, separate from its Oneworld partners in Terminal 2A, the airline plans to ensure a smooth transfer experience for connecting passengers. Malaysia Airlines is also exploring collaboration opportunities with Air France-KLM at CDG, taking advantage of the flexible partnership arrangements within Oneworld.

The A350-900s assigned to the Paris service will be redeployed from routes to Doha and Tokyo Narita, which will eventually be serviced by incoming A330neos.

While Paris is currently the only new European destination on the horizon for Malaysia Airlines, the reintroduction of the Kuala Lumpur-Paris route represents a significant step in the airline’s efforts to strengthen its long-haul network in Europe.
