**New Documentary Showcases the Real-Life Heroism of Christopher Reeve**

The world remembers Christopher Reeve as the iconic Superman, but a new documentary, “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story,” delves into the real-life hero he was beyond the silver screen. Premiering on October 11th, the film uses intimate interviews with family and friends, along with never-before-seen home videos, to offer a deeply personal look at Reeve’s life and legacy.

The documentary traces Reeve’s journey from his early days at the prestigious Juilliard School, where he befriended comedian Robin Williams, to his rise to stardom as the Man of Steel. While his children, Matthew and Alexandra, remember him fondly as “just dad,” the film highlights the impact of his acting career and how he faced the devastating accident that left him paralyzed in 1995.

“Super/Man” reveals the heartbreaking moments after the accident, including Reeve’s initial despair and his close friend Robin Williams’ unwavering support. The film showcases Reeve’s incredible resilience as he navigated his new reality, becoming a powerful voice for disability rights and founding the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation dedicated to spinal cord injury research.

Despite the challenges, Reeve continued to act and fulfill his lifelong dream of directing. His unwavering spirit and dedication to improving the lives of those living with paralysis made him a true hero, both on and off the screen.

“There is a huge amount of great actors and actresses out there, where their filmography might be amazing and what they achieve on a cultural level might be amazing, but have they actually achieved anything really as a human that moves the needle for our society?” said filmmaker Ian Bonhote. “And Chris has done both things.”

“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” promises to be a moving and inspiring tribute to a remarkable individual who, even in the face of adversity, became a symbol of hope and change.
