Wed Oct 09 04:01:00 UTC 2024: ## BJP Sweeps Gurugram Seats in Haryana Assembly Elections 2024
Gurugram, known for its high-tech IT and corporate sector, saw a clean sweep by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in all four assembly seats – Gurgaon, Pataudi, Badshahpur, and Sohna – in the recent Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.
In the highly contested Gurgaon seat, BJP candidate Mukesh Sharma emerged victorious, securing a decisive win over Independent candidate Naveen Goyal and Congress candidate Mohit Grover. The BJP candidate maintained a consistent lead throughout the counting process, starting from the postal ballots.
The other three seats, Pataudi, Badshahpur, and Sohna, also witnessed BJP candidates securing comfortable wins. In Pataudi, BJP’s Bimla Chaudhary defeated Congress’ Pearl Chaudhary by a margin of over 46,000 votes. In Badshahpur, BJP’s Rao Narbir Singh won against Congress’ Vardhan Yadav, garnering over 60,000 votes. In Sohna, BJP’s Tejpal Tanwar defeated Congress’ Rohitas Singh by a margin of over 11,000 votes.
The elections saw a fierce battle between the BJP, Congress, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Independents. The high stakes of the election and the strategic importance of Gurugram, a prominent economic hub, attracted major political players and drew significant public attention. The outcome, however, demonstrated the BJP’s strong grip on the constituency, solidifying their position in the state.
