**Atlanta, GA** – Rapper and actor Childish Gambino, real name Donald Glover, has announced the cancellation of his New World Tour due to health concerns. The news came in a statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, where Glover revealed that he had been hospitalized after a show in New Orleans.

“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent,” he shared. “After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked.” Glover added that he has surgery scheduled and needs time to heal.

The cancellation comes after the tour was initially paused last month. Glover emphasized his commitment to his health, stating, “My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously.”

While expressing his disappointment at having to cancel the tour, Glover assured fans he is looking forward to returning to the stage. “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform,” he wrote. “Until then, thanks for the love, privacy, and support.”
