**Machilipatnam, October 8, 2024:** The Krishna district is gearing up for a period of significant growth with the launch of the ‘Swarna Andhra Pradesh-2047’ Vision Document. Minister Kolluru Ravindra stated the document aims to propel the district towards achieving the goals envisioned by the Chief Minister.
A workshop held at the Collectorate on Monday saw the participation of the Minister, several MLAs, and officials, all collaborating to shape the vision document. The Collector, D.K. Balaji, highlighted the document’s ambitious target of boosting the district’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 15% over the next five years.
Minister Ravindra emphasized that the vision document, set to be unveiled by the Chief Minister on November 1st, will focus on several key areas.
“The upcoming Machilipatnam port and the Green Hydrogen project will be instrumental in establishing Krishna as a global hub,” he said. The Minister further stressed the need to foster development in education, employment, and social welfare.
The vision document also aims to empower SC, ST, BC, and minority communities, promote the development of hatcheries and processing plants, and boost tourism in areas like Hamsaladeevi, Ghantasala, Kuchipudi, and Manginapudi beach.
Several MLAs expressed their suggestions, with Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad urging for the promotion of solar energy systems in residential areas and the adoption of solar systems for agricultural motors. He also stressed the importance of completing the Inner Ring Road, Bypass, and Outer Ring Road projects within the next five years, aligning with the Chief Minister’s vision.
Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkat Rao advocated for increased funding for development works in his constituency, emphasizing the need for educational institutions. He believes that the upcoming expansion of the international airport will further solidify Krishna’s position as a leading Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Pamarru MLA Varla Kumar Raja highlighted the potential for commercial crops in the Llank villages of Thotlavalluru Mandal and emphasized the need for farmer support and the construction of a bridge in Pamullanka. He also expressed the need for more facilities to support the marine food export industry in his constituency.
Pedana MLA Kagit K. Prasad, representing an agricultural and aquaculture-based constituency, stressed the importance of constructing irrigation canals, strengthening embankments, and providing desilting services for drainage channels, along with electricity subsidies for the aquaculture sector.
The workshop saw the participation of various department officials including the DRO, K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Bandar RDO, K. Swathi, DWMA PD, A. Siva Prasad, and CPO Ganesh Krishna.
The vision document signifies a renewed focus on the development of the Krishna district and promises to shape its future with a clear path towards economic prosperity and social upliftment.
