Tue Oct 08 18:21:15 UTC 2024: ## Controversial Preacher Zakir Naik Sparks Outrage with Pakistan Paradise Claims

Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik has ignited a storm of criticism after claiming that people living in Pakistan have a higher chance of reaching paradise than those living in the United States.

Naik, who is currently on a 10-day visit to Karachi, Pakistan, made the controversial remarks during a speech, asserting that Pakistan is a better place to live a life leading to paradise than the US. He further criticized Muslims who choose to leave Islamic nations for non-Muslim ones, emphasizing the importance of following Allah’s commandments over imitating others.

His comments sparked widespread backlash on social media, with users criticizing his views. One user on X (formerly Twitter) highlighted the prevalence of suicide bombers and terrorists in Pakistan, implying that Naik’s claims are misleading.

The controversy deepened when Naik was seen in a viral video refusing to answer a question from a Pashtun woman about increasing paedophilia cases in Pakistan. He dismissed her question as “wrong” and insisted that the Quran does not mention paedophilia. He demanded she apologize to God before he would respond.

Naik’s visit to Pakistan comes as he remains wanted by Indian authorities for alleged money laundering and promoting extremism through hate speeches. He left India in 2016 and was granted permanent residency in Malaysia by the previous government.

His recent pronouncements are likely to further fuel the debate surrounding his views and the influence he continues to wield within certain segments of the Muslim community.
