**Culpeper, VA** – The Culpeper Technical Education Center (CTEC) hosted a delegation from the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) last week, showcasing the cutting-edge career and technical education (CTE) programs and opportunities available to students. The event, focused on workforce readiness, included presentations, tours, and a panel discussion featuring local leaders.

The visit began with a lunch prepared by CTEC’s Culinary Arts students, followed by a student presentation highlighting real-world projects and skills developed through the programs. Attendees then toured the state-of-the-art facility, gaining firsthand insight into CTEC’s innovative approach.

“The work being done at CTEC is a model of what can be achieved when education and industry work hand-in-hand,” said Dr. Cardell Patillo, VSBA President. “We were excited to see how these programs are preparing students for success in the workforce while addressing the needs of local businesses.”

The VSBA delegation, including representatives from school districts across the state, was particularly interested in the CTEC’s approach to workforce readiness and its collaboration with local businesses. They were also impressed with the innovative programs offered, such as the Culinary Arts program, which provides students with real-world experience in a professional kitchen environment.
