Tue Oct 08 08:11:24 UTC 2024: ## BJP Leads in Haryana Assembly Elections, Congress Trails Behind

Haryana is witnessing a strong lead for the BJP in the ongoing assembly elections, with the party poised to secure its third consecutive term in office. Preliminary trends indicate the BJP leading in 48 constituencies, while Congress trails behind with 36 seats, and other parties holding 6.

Notable wins include wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s victory in the Julana constituency. Phogat, a Congress candidate, defeated BJP’s Yogesh Kumar. Haryana’s Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, is also leading in his constituency, Ladwa. Veteran Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda is currently leading with a substantial margin in his seat.

While the BJP has already crossed the majority mark, with 46 seats required to form the government, the election remains tight in many constituencies, leading to intense suspense until the final round of counting.

Congress leaders have raised concerns about the election process, alleging that the Election Commission’s website is selectively displaying trends favorable to the BJP. They have accused the BJP of pressuring the administration and demanded an investigation into the matter. The Election Commission has rejected these claims, maintaining that the counting process is transparent and conducted in the presence of representatives from all parties.

The counting process is ongoing, and the final results are expected to be announced soon.
