Tue Oct 08 13:42:09 UTC 2024: ## Jammu & Kashmir Election Officials Face Sanctions for Campaigning

**JAMMU, Oct 5:** The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir has announced severe sanctions against employees found involved in campaigning during the recent Assembly elections.

The CEO’s office has directed all District Election Officers (DEOs) to penalize these employees by stopping one increment and making an official entry in their service records. This measure aims to discourage future violations of the Model Code of Conduct.

The action follows the investigation of complaints received against employees suspected of participating in political campaigning during the election period. These employees were initially placed under suspension, and now their cases have been thoroughly reviewed. Those found guilty will face the aforementioned penalties.

This move is seen as a strong deterrent to ensure the neutrality and integrity of government officials during future elections.
