**Srinagar, Kashmir:** The much-anticipated “Singham Again” trailer has unveiled breathtaking shots of Srinagar’s iconic Lal Chowk, marking a historic moment for Bollywood and a symbol of transformation for the region.
The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, features Ajay Devgn as the iconic cop Bajirao Singham, who arrives in Srinagar on a mission. The trailer showcases dramatic action sequences filmed at Lal Chowk, including aerial shots of the Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) and bustling street scenes.
Lal Chowk, historically known for its tense environment, was once synonymous with curfews and security lockdowns. However, the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 has brought about significant changes, with the region now witnessing a surge in tourism and film projects.
“Singham Again” is one of over 300 films to have been filmed in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, a testament to the region’s new film policies that facilitate production.
Director Rohit Shetty expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to film in Kashmir, calling it an “emotional experience” and a symbol of the region’s newfound peace and energy. He highlighted the shift from unrest to happiness and tourism, emphasizing the “New Bharat ka Naya Kashmir.”
Ajay Devgn echoed Shetty’s sentiments, thanking the Kashmir Film Authority for their cooperation and expressing his desire to return.
The filming of “Singham Again” at Lal Chowk signifies the resurgence of film production in the region and a new chapter for Kashmir, one marked by hope and opportunity. The once-troubled clock tower now stands as a backdrop for a future filled with both cinematic dreams and a renewed sense of possibility.
