ZURICH – Pamela Anderson, known for her iconic role in “Baywatch,” has revealed that a decade-long hiatus from the spotlight was fueled by struggles with depression. Attending the Zurich Film Festival to promote her upcoming film “The Last Showgirl,” the actress candidly admitted to “feeling like she went from Baywatch to Broadway” with a blur in between.

“I don’t know what happened in between, it’s all a big blur. I am just happy to be here, in this moment, because I think I have had depression for a couple of decades,” Anderson shared with Variety.

Anderson, who also received the Zurich’s Golden Eye Award for her work, expressed gratitude for her return to the limelight following the release of her Netflix documentary, “Pamela, A Love Story.” The film helped her shed the “Baywatch” persona and prove her versatility.

“It took a long time to shed the image. I always knew I was capable of more. It’s great to be a part of pop culture, but it’s a blessing and a curse,” Anderson said, acknowledging the duality of her fame.

“People fall in love with you because of a bathing suit. It has taken a long time, but I am here,” she concluded.
